Low Water Levels Affect Recreation Craft at Locks

Published Aug. 8, 2016
HUNTINGTON, WV…Because of low water levels, the Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will limit recreational boat lockages on the Ohio River at three of the navigation locks – the Racine, Belleville and Willow Island Locks – and will only lock recreational craft on even-numbered hours (8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., etc.).

The locks on the Kanawha River – Winfield, Marmet and London Locks – will continue normal operations.
