Notification Process for Ordnance Findings:

  1. Do not touch, move or dig near or around suspected ordnance
     

  2. Walk away in the direction you came
     

  3. Identify the area on a map or by terrain feature
     

  4. Report immediately to:

1-888-283-0303
 

After a report has been made, the following actions are performed:

  1. U.S. Forest Service employee is notified
     

  2. U.S. Forest Service verifies the find
     

  3. U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal  (EOD) contacted for ordnance removal

  4. Provide courtesy information to Division of Water and Waste Management and USACE Huntington at the earliest convenience (Permit no longer required)
     

  5. Office of West Virginia State Fire Marshall notified
     

  6. UXO records documented and kept on file at the Potomac Ranger District
