Sutton Waterline Project
Sutton crews place a waterline vault in the downstream area of Sutton Dam. This was a major portion of a two-phase waterline project for the Sutton Dam, office, maintenance area, and the downstream recreation area. It replaces the old waterline supplying those areas.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Phase 5 Stilling Basin of the Bluestone Dam Safety Assurance Mega-Project

Recently the Huntington District celebrated the beginning of the Phase 5 Stilling Basin of the Bluestone Dam Safety Assurance Mega-Project by holding a ground breaking ceremony.
The ceremony featured speeches by Colonel Jason Evers, Major General Robert Whittle, Frank Piedimonte, President and COO, Brayman Construction Corp; Mayor Jack Scott of the City of Hinton; Senator Shelly Moore-Capito; Congresswoman Carol Miller; Mara Boggs, State Director for Senator Joe Manchin III; and, Mike Hall, Chief of Staff to Governor Jim Justice.

Brady Beckman Recognized at Senior Leader Conference

Massillon Levee Groundbreaking
Recently a Groundbreaking Ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the repairs to the Massillon Levee. Congressman Bob Gibbs, Ohio District 7 joined Colonel Jason Evers, Huntington District Commander; Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry, Mayor of Massillon; Bob Fonte of Stark Parks; and Ramon Mejia, Project Manager, in celebrating the Groundbreaking.
Combined Mohawk Dam and Zoar Levee Groundbreaking
Recently, a combined Mohawk Dam and Zoar Levee Groundbreaking Ceremony was held to mark the beginning of work on these two important projects. Congressman Gibbs joined Colonel Evers along with Mayor Scott C. Gordon, Village of Zoar and Craig W. Butler, Executive Director/Secretary Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District in celebrating the event.

249th Engineer Battalion performs CBRM mission in Beckley
Twelve Prime Power Specialist (12P) of 3rd Power Station, Charlie Company, 249th Engineer Battalion are conducting a Circuit Breaker and Relay Maintenance (CBRM) mission at the Beckley Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Beckley, WV.
Winfield Locks and Dam
Though the purpose of the Winfield Locks and Dam is navigation, there are also 5 recreation areas; visitors center, overlook, observation areas, serveral nature/wildlife habit ponds and over 1 1/2 miles of fishing acess.
Bluestone Dam Edges Closer to Completion
The makeover at Bluestone Dam has been a slow process – but the final part of the process is now underway.
Located on the scenic New River in southern West Virginia, the dam is a massive concrete structure built in the 1940s to reduce flooding across the state. It’s enjoyed a long history of success, preventing more than $6 billion in flood damages during its lifetime - but the ability of the dam to withstand a major storm was called into question in the late 1990s.
