• Riffle Run Day Use Area Launch Ramp Now Open

    HUNTINGTON, Wv. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District announces that the Boat Launch Ramp located in the Riffle Run Day Use Area has now reopened.
  • Operational Changes to Riffle Run Campground, Burnsville Lake

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Changes will be made to the operational procedures for Riffle Run Campground at Burnsville Lake. The campground will be implementing a reservation system known as recreation.gov, allowing customers to make advanced reservations for peak season dates. The traditional first come first serve procedure will remain as is for non-peak season dates. The reservation system will only accept credit/debit cards.

    This Public Notice has been prepared pursuant to Section 404(a) of the Clean Water Act (CWA).  It is being administered in conformance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) regulation, “Practice and Procedure: Final Rule for Operation and Maintenance of Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works Projects involving the Discharge of Dredged Materials into Waters of the United States or Ocean Waters,” 33 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 337.1.  The purpose of this Public Notice is to specify what dredged or fill materials will be discharged into waters of the United States by implementation of the proposed action, advise all interested parties of the proposed project, and provide an opportunity to submit comments, or request a public hearing.
  • Burnsville Lake, Riffle Run Day Use Area Launch will be CLOSED for Dredging

    BURNSVILLE, W.VA. – Starting, Monday, March 6, 2023, the Boat Launch Ramp located in the Riffle Run Day Use Area will be closed to begin dredging, once the job is completed we will announce the reopening. The Corps will work with the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to dredge the Riffle Run Day Use Area Boat Launch Ramp located behind the Burnsville Dam. Once the dredging is completed, fishermen will be able to launch fishing boats at the Riffle Run Day Use Area Boat Launch.

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces a pause in the normal drawdown at Alum Creek, Deer Creek, Paint Creek, East Lynn, Beech Fork, Grayson, North Fork of Pound, John W. Flannagan, Fishtrap, Dewey, and Yatesville Lakes as we evaluate the impacts of the drought/abnormally dry conditions in the area.

  • Extra Drawdown at Delaware Lake

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces that Delaware Lake will drawdown the lake 5 feet more than normal winter pool. The extra drawdown of our winter pool, normally 910.0 feet above sea level, will be going to 905.00 feet above sea level from December 1-15, 2022. This is necessary to conduct scheduled concrete maintenance on the upstream face of the dam.
