Temporary Bridge Lane Closures Announced

HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - The Huntington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct inspections of three bridges in May that will require temporary lane closures to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.

The Jesse Stuart Memorial Bridge near Greenup, Ky. will experience lane closures May 8 and 9, 2017.  The Jesse Stuart Memorial Bridge is a viaduct on top of the Greenup Locks and Dam on the Ohio River. The bridge connects Kentucky Route 10 from the AA Highway/ U.S. Route 23 intersection to where it becomes Ohio State Route 253/ U.S. Route 52.

The Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam access bridge will experience lane closures on May 10, 2017. Although this bridge is not open to the general public closures may impact those traveling to R.C. Byrd for official business.

The Yatesville Spillway Bridge at Yatesville Lake in Louisa, Ky. will experience lane closures on May 18, 2017. This bridge is a public road located on Yatesville Dam Road.

Motorists are urged to observe safe speeds when travelling on these bridges and follow the directions of the flaggers that will be on site.
