Gauley River Levels to Increase Thursday, May 11

HUNTINGTON, W.Va - Beginning Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., river levels along West Virginia's Gauley River will be significantly higher than normal while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tests a new Howell-Bunger Valve that's just been installed at the Summersville Dam.

 

The outflow from Summersville Lake into the Gauley River will be gradually increased from current flow up to around 6000 cubic feet per

second and then gradually decreased back down to normal flow by the end of the day.
