Public Meeting About Barker House Demolition

HUNTINGTON, W.VA. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, will host a public meeting to discuss the planned demolition of the historic Barker House at Willow Island Locks and Dam on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Washington County Library in Marietta, Ohio,

The Barker House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but it has fallen into a state of disrepair where rehabilitation is not viable. The meeting will provide an opportunity for Huntington District representatives to hear comments from the community.
