Huntington, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for Pike County area officials and emergency management personnel to examine roles during an emergency and their response to a major flood simulation.
The meeting will take place at the University of Pikeville Health Professions Education Building, 7th Floor Pavilion, at 147 Sycamore Street in Pikeville, Ky.
The meeting will include representatives from Pike County, Pikeville, Coal Run Village, Elkhorn City and the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Federal Government. Neighboring counties, cities and agencies are encouraged to attend.
The goal is to grow relationships and enhance efficient interagency communication at the local, State and Federal levels, and to identify roles, responsibilities and duties related to natural disaster planning and response.
