BEECH FORK LAKE, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beech Fork Lake has volunteer opportunities for you during the upcoming recreation season: May through September 2014. 

Four visitor center host and fee station attendant positions and one maintenance position are available.

Duties may include light maintenance work in an outdoor environment such as mowing and trimming, painting, maintenance of nature trails, litter pick up throughout the park, debris collection along the shoreline, as well as assisting the Natural Resource Management staff by leading recreational activities and providing visitors with a high-quality recreational experience.

Volunteers must be willing to wear the provided Park Host uniform while performing duties and must be eager to engage with the public. Volunteers selected for the positions must be willing to serve for the entire May through September 2014 season.

Participants willing to commit 26 hours or more of volunteer work per week May through September 2014 will be provided a designated electric and water hook-up campsite at no charge. Camp sites feature concrete pads, water, sewage, 30 and 50 amp electric hookups in a section of the camp exclusively for volunteers. There is a laundry building in the campground that volunteers may use free of charge. Camping units must be self-contained. There is no restroom or shower house in the campground hence volunteers must provide their own campers.
