HUNTINGTON, W.VA. -- Today several employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, were honored by District Commander, Col. Leon Parrott, at a special awards ceremony at Beech Fork Lake.
The ceremony was timed to coincide with Flag Day, the U.S. Army’s 239th Birthday, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Birthday; Col. Parrott took the opportunity to recognize recent commendable work of several employees.
Derek Maxey was recognized as the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Cost Engineer of the Year. He was also being recognized as the Huntington District Cost Engineer of the Year. Jeff Jezewski was recognized as the Huntington District Engineer of the Year.
The Commander’s Award for Civilian Service was presented to Denis Chabot, Adam Scarberry, Dusty Carroll, Steve Spoor and Simon Fet.
Certificates of Achievement were presented to Debbie Gibson, Jan Mayes-Connor, Doretta McComas and Cindy Yost.
Commander’s Coins were presented to Belinda Weikle, Kim Bacon, Paul Cook and Bryce Carmichael.
