HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Paintsville Lake in Paintsville, Ky., will offer an open house to the public on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Tour groups will meet at the Visitor’s Center.
Visitors can get a free tour inside the intake structure at Paintsville Dam and learn about how the dam helps reduce the negative impacts of flood damage. A Corps Water Safety Booth with free water safety items and related information will be located at the Mountain HomePlace, and a slide presentation about Paintsville Lake will also be available at the Corps Visitor Center for viewing.
Corps team members will be on hand to answer questions, explain the role of the Corps in the community, and to help educate the public about the Corps mission.
