East Lynn Recreation Season Opens

HUNTINGTON, W.Va – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District announces the beginning of recreation season at East Lynn Lake.

The Overlook day use areas above the dam and the restrooms at the Lakeside-Marina day use areas have already opened. The Lick Creek day use area and the East Fork boat launch are scheduled to reopen the week of May 4, 2015. The Below Dam day use area and restrooms are open year-round. For more information concerning Marina operations please call the marina operator at (606) 923-2729. Amenities at our day use facilities include reserveable shelters, restrooms, playgrounds, boat launches, picnic sites, trails, horseshoe pits, volley ball and basketball courts and a baseball field.

High water in March required extensive cleanup efforts in the campground where a road slip caused the temporary closure of Areas 5 and 6. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will make every effort to repair this slip and reopen these areas as soon as possible.

Areas 1, 2, 3 and 4 will open on May 15, 2015 for the recreation season. All areas have electric and water and are priced at $24 per night. A sewage dump station is located adjacent to the fee station at the campground entrance.

Campsites in Areas 1, 2 and 3 can be reserved by calling 1-877-444-6777 or on the internet at www.recreation.gov <http://www.recreation.gov/> . Reservations for campsites can be made six months in advance. Shelter reservations can be made 12 months in advance.
