Bakers Run Campground to Reopen

Published Aug. 11, 2015

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will reopen Bakers Run Campground at Sutton Lake in Sutton, W.Va., on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015.

The West Virginia Department of Highways has completed a significant amount of repair to Route 17 and after this weekend it will be open for all traffic.

Drivers should be aware the the road is still being repaired, so while travelling to Bakers Run, campers should exercise caution since the repaired roadway will be rough in places. A roadway slip still exists along Wolf Creek just prior to the Spruce Lick Church.

At this location Department of Highways signs narrow the road to one lane.

The Sutton Lake staff look forward to again providing recreational opportunities at Bakers Run Campground and wish campers a safe and enjoyable experience.
