Summersville Campgrounds Reopen

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Summersville Lake experienced its second highest lake pool of record on June 25, 2016.

While cleanup and repair efforts continue, here’s the status of the recreation areas at Summersville:

* Battle Run Campground will reopen for walk-in camping Friday, July 29. Reservations can be made for August 1 through September 5 at, or call 877-444-6777.

* Battle Run Beach will reopen Saturday, July 30.

* All other recreation areas and facilities are open to the public. This includes the Long Point Marina boat ramp and restroom, Salmon Run boat ramp and restroom, Battle Run boat ramps and restroom, Damsite Picnic Area and overlooks.

* Muddlety Kayak/Canoe Launch Facility will remain closed for the season.
