East Lynn Lake Looking for Volunteers for National Public Lands Day

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. –   East Lynn Lake in East Lynn, W.Va., is looking for volunteers to assist U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees clean up and conduct maintenance work at the lake Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include trash pickup, hiking trail and recreation area maintenance. It’s part of the observance of National Public Lands Day.     

 

Those wishing to assist with the event should meet at the East Lynn Lakeside Marina Area Boat Ramp at 9 a.m. Volunteers should bring work shoes / boots and gloves. Volunteers will be given directions to work sites for trash pickup and trail maintenance, and garbage bags will be provided.

 

Those who wish to use their personal boat for lakeshore cleanup may do so and can deposit collected trash at any boat ramp. All volunteers are asked to sign in at the East Lynn Lakeside Marina Area Boat Ramp prior to beginning trash pickup on this day.
