Huntington, WV. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, between 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Twin Valley High School in Pilgrim’s Knob, Va. The High School is located at 14449 Dismal River Road, Pilgrim’s Knob, Va. 24634.

Corps of Engineers to Reopen Buchanan County Floodproofing and Acquisition Application Period

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District announces the immediate reopening of the application period for the voluntary Section 202 Flood Risk Reduction project that recently closed to those properties in Buchanan County, Va. that have been previously identified as eligible.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Eligible landowners of Buchanan County, Virginia who have questions about protecting their structures from flooding and would like to submit an application for the project, are invited to attend public meetings that will provide information about the voluntary Buchanan County Section 202 Flood Risk Reduction project. Two meetings will be offered in June by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, in coordination with the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors.
