  • Bolivar Dam Seepage Barrier Construction Begins

    Huntington, W.Va. – The U.S Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District (USACE) announces the beginning of construction of the first portion of the seepage barrier at Bolivar Dam. The barrier is an underground concrete wall that will substantially reduce seepage beneath the dam, which has been observed during historical flood events such as in 2005 and 2008.
  • Zoar Draft DSMS Public Available for Public Comment

    Huntington, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District has prepared a draft Dam Safety Modification Report (DSMR) / draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) and a draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Zoar Levee & Diversion Dam, Dam Safety Modification Study and made them available for public review and comment.
  • Meldahl Recreation Facilities Temporary Fishing Access Reopens

    Huntington, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District announces the reopening of a temporary fishing access at the recreation area downstream of the Meldahl Locks and Dam on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River.
