  • “Safety on the Blue” Event Opens to the Public Aug. 6 at Bluestone Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in conjunction with the West Virginia Water Festival will host the 13th Annual “Safety on the Blue” celebration to promote water safety at Bluestone Lake on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bluestone Bridge Parking Lot (Pit Area) near the launch ramp.
  • Tours of Sutton Dam and 5K Run Offered on July 29

    HUNTINGTON, W.VA. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Sutton Dam in Sutton, W.Va., will be offering tours of the dam to the public on July 29, 2017, from noon to 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to learn how the dam operates to create Sutton Lake and reduce flooding along the Elk River.
  • Questions and Answers Concerning the Management of Motorized Vehicle Use at East Lynn Lake

    Unauthorized ATV riding and ATV trail development in the East Lynn Lake Wildlife Management Area in East Lynn, W.Va., has been a growing problem, so the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been evaluating different options that would address the issue. Recently, the Hatfield-McCoy Authority approached the Huntington District with a proposal that could address the unauthorized activity.
