New Life Jacket Loaner Station at Atwood Lake
Mineral City, OH – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with boating safety nonprofit, the Sea Tow Foundation, has announced the opening of a new Life Jacket Loaner Station at Atwood Lake in Mineral City, Ohio, starting May 24, 2019.

“Rake the Lake” at Sutton Lake on May 18
HUNTINGTON, W.Va… Every spring, dozens of volunteers come to Sutton Lake in Sutton, W.Va., and pick up trash and debris as part of the annual “Rake the Lake” event. This year’s clean-up campaign is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, and the Kanawha County Commission will hold a joint press conference to discuss plans for the construction phase of the Lens Creek Sewer Line Extension Project on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. in the Commission Courtroom located in the Kanawha County Courthouse at 409 Virginia Street East in Charleston, W.Va.
John W. Flannagan Dam Winter Drawdown Optimization Public Meeting
HUNTINGTON, W.Va – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has identified four possible alternatives with the objective to optimize the winter drawdown process at John W. Flannagan Dam in order to facilitate enhanced downstream recreation. The Corps will hold a second public meeting to inform the public and seek input regarding this change to the winter drawdown process. The meeting will be held at the Breaks Interstate Park Conference Center at 627 Commission Circle, Breaks, Va., on April 2, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
