  • Burnsville Lake Reopens to Boating

    HUNTINGTON, WV – Burnsville Lake in Burnsville, W.Va., Is now open to boating.  Repairs have been made to the water line that supplies recreational facilities on the Bulltown end of Burnsville Lake and residences in the area.
  • Burnsville Lake Closed to Boating

    Beginning tomorrow, May 15, Burnsville Lake will be closed to boating until waterline repairs are made. Another posting will be made when the lake reopens. The waterline supplying recreational facilities on the Bulltown end of Burnsville Lake extends from the dam to Bulltown and is routed under water in the lake. The line is weighted to securely hold it in the original river channel.
  • Corps Opens Campgrounds in West Virginia

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, has released its West Virginia campground schedule for 2020. Following the Governor of West Virginia campground operating guidelines ( https://governor.wv.gov/Pages/The-Comeback.aspx ), only West Virginia residents will be permitted to enter campgrounds until further notice. If you currently have a camping reservation and are not a West Virginia resident please do the following: Cancel your reservation dates on www.recreation.gov through June 9, 2020. All reservation fees for cancelled days will be automatically refunded.
  • Corps of Engineers Extends Closures on Campgrounds and Shelters in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, is extending the closure of Corps managed campgrounds and group shelters within the states of Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia in the interest of public safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Ohio and Kentucky, the closure is extended through May 31, 2020. In Virginia, the closure is extended through June 10, 2020. In West Virginia, a final decision is expected on campground and shelter schedules by May 12, 2020. While an official date for reopening has not yet been determined, all campground and group shelter reservations will be canceled thru the dates listed above. All customer reservations affected will receive a full refund.
