Dillon Lake has worked with Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) for over 7 years. Each year, including 2017, we set up a water safety booth for the kids and adults that venture through the lobby of the hospital. This year we were contacted by Nationwide Children’s Hospital to set up a booth for an event put on by the city of Columbus and NCH, for underprivileged youths. Many govt. agencies from around Columbus, had attended the event. The kids and parents learned about water safety, and what they could do to stay safe in and on the water.
We had a diverse attendance of age groups that had their share of boating, life jacket and regulation questions. The kids were amazed at what we had to offer them; from coloring books and crayons, to flying rings! The kids, adults, and even the participants had a great time! It’s a great feeling to put a smile on a child’s face and teach them a little bit at the same time!
