Cecil Cox and Aca Ramey of the Huntington District Regulatory Office attended the first Great Outdoor Adventures event, at R.D. Bailey Lake on September 30th 2017. In total it was estimated about 360 members of the public attended the event.

Cecil Cox and Aca Ramey of the Huntington District Regulatory Office attended the first Great Outdoor Adventures event, at R.D. Bailey Lake on September 30th 2017. In total it was estimated about 360 members of the public attended the event.

Mr. Cox and Mr. Ramey utilized the "Watershed Model" to demonstrate the role wetlands and streams play within a watershed, and how the Regulatory Division plays a role protecting streams and wetlands under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, and Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899. The conditions at the lake provided an opportunity to show the public the three metrics (hydrology, soil, and vegetation) that classifies a wetland
