Hundreds of students met with professionals representing a variety of careers as part of Marshall University's "Corps of Engineers Day" at the Memorial Student Center in Huntington, W.Va., on March 6, 2018
The event, sponsored by the Office of Career Education / Career Services, highlighted the various departments that make up the Corps and the many different career possibilities that are part of the organization.
The Corps stressed that there are opportunities outside of engineering, and with just a few additional classes, many students in a wide variety of fields may qualify for positions at the Corps, regardless of their majors.
The Corps shared with students and faculty the majors and class requirements needed for internship and/or employment and how students can add the needed courses through electives to qualify for many of these positions.
The event included hands-on and visual demonstrations, and information about the work being done by the Corps.
