Boundary Marking and Recovery Training

The Huntington District’s Geospatial Section conducted training at the Summersville Lake Project for the marking and maintenance of the USACE Boundary Line. Eight Rangers from the Kanawha Area Lake Projects took part in the training that consisted of both field and office time. The team worked with crews to demonstrate how to utilize survey compasses, apply magnetic declination and operate metal locators to recover pins that may have been buried and assumed lost. The rangers also trained on utilizing the new Terraflex App and GPS units that can be synchronized wirelessly.
