Published Oct. 31, 2018

This year’s Halloween Spooktacular with Bobber was held at the Burnsville Lake Riffle Run Campground. Participants enjoyed learning about water safety. Additionally, they made and took home a canvas painting of Bobberto remind them to be safe during Halloween. Bobber the water safety dog promoted checking your candy just like you check your life jacket!Campers and community members participated in a scavenger hunt in which kids got to learn about the Riffle Run Campground and our staff. Participants also got to trick or treat with Bobber, and received water safety giveaways. Afterwards, the kids cake walked to the Monster Mash.Furthermore, the Friends of Burnsville Lake assisted with the event, including providing candy for kids and prizes for campsite decorating, costume, pet costume, and pumpkin decorating contests. All participants got to meet some of the Burnsville Lake Staff and Friends of Burnsville Lake Volunteers. We were thankful for everyone that came out to help and participated in this event, especially Burnsville Law Enforcement Officers who assisted with traffic control to ensure the safety of participants. Rangers Lisa Hess, Ben Coulter, Jodie Hancock and LPA Ashley Pierson all worked together, along with volunteers, Friends of Burnsville Lake members, and the Burnsville Library to make this event a success!
