Major General Robert Whittle, Commanding General, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division visited the Huntington District to gain a greater appreciation of the district's mission.

Major General Robert Whittle, Commanding General, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division visited the Huntington District to gain a greater appreciation of the district's mission. He was joined by Mr. Stephen Durrett and Mr. Joe Savage to gain a greater appreciation of the regulatory mission by visiting the Mountain Laurel Mine; the flood risk reduction mission by visiting Bluestone dam; the navigation mission by visiting Willow Island Locks and Dam; and was able to see the regional repair capabilities offered by visiting the Heavy and Medium Fleets. General Whittle concluded his visit by touring the district headquarters to meet and greet numerous members of the district staff. He had the opportunity to present numerous coins for excellence. He was able to recognize the Lower Mud PDT for a significant milestone accomplishment and he shared his thoughts over lunch with the current Leadership Development Program participants.
