  • On May 3, 2016 the Town of Clay, W.Va. dedicated its newly upgraded water treatment plant as part of a Section 571, Environmental Infrastructure Program, project.

    Town of Clay, W.Va. Water Treatment Plant Dedication Ceremony

    On May 3, 2016 the Town of Clay, W.Va. dedicated its newly upgraded water treatment plant as part of a Section 571, Environmental Infrastructure Program, project. Approximately $1 Million in funding from the program was used for plant upgrades that expanded the intake capacity from 400 gallons per minute (GPM) to 800 GPM and increased the plant storage capacity to 73,500 Gallons. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) also provided funding for the project.
  • The Huntington District’s Public Affairs Office conducted media relations training for 30 members of the Huntington workforce at Beech Fork Lake. The facilitator was Dr. Joseph Trahan III of Trahan and Associates. This training improves the district's team members understanding of communication techniques and increases their confidence when telling the district’s story through the media. Each day long course focused on developing effective messages, techniques in answering tough questions, techniques to prepare for media engagements, effectively dealing with reporters and how to conduct on camera interviews. The training included two on camera experiences. The techniques taught in dealing with the media are transferrable to speaking to stakeholders and the general public. A second iteration of media training is scheduled for 28-29 June 2016.

    The Huntington District’s Public Affairs Office conducted media relations training for 30 members of the Huntington workforce at Beech Fork Lake. This training improves the district's team members understanding of communication techniques and increases their confidence when telling the district’s story through the media.
