About Dillon Lake and Tom Jenkins Dam
Dillon Lake is located on the Licking River in Muskingum and Licking Counties, Ohio. The lake is authorized for flood control, recreation, and fish and wildlife enhancement and low flow augmentation as part of the Muskingum and Ohio River Basin flood control plan. The 1,560-acre lake was created by a dam constructed in 1959 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Tom Jenkins Dam is located on Sandy Creek in northern Athens County. The lake is authorized for flood control, recreation, and fish and wildlife enhancement and water supply as part of the Ohio River Basin Flood Control Plan. The dam was completed in 1950 and creates the 640-acre Burr Oak Lake which is owned primarily by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
